The tool is simple and intuitive to use. Gaps and opportunities for improvement are investigated across five key business areas: management systems, human resources and recruitment, customers and stakeholders, procurement and supply chain and risk management.

STEP ONE
Engage your team
- For a comprehensive (and accurate) analysis of your modern slavery governance maturity, involve representatives from various areas of your organisation in the gap analysis to capture diverse perspectives and understandings.
- Make sure you include representatives from your Executive Leadership Team, procurement, operations, HR, legal, audit and risk, communications and training.
- The tool can be completed by your team independently or can be facilitated in an online or face-to-face workshop by our experienced consultants.
STEP TWO
Complete the questions
- Together with your team, you will review 22 questions and select the most appropriate response to each question to accurately reflect your current modern level of maturity across five business systems.
- Your responses should reflect actions taken, the level of integration of modern slavery risk management into existing processes, and your engagement with stakeholders and suppliers on the issue.
STEP THREE
Heat map and next steps
- On completion of the questions, you will receive a visual ‘heat map’ showcasing your company’s effectiveness in managing modern slavery risks across the five business areas.
- Once you know where your gaps are, you have the option to choose from 130 practical actions, tailored to your business needs and resources, to inform your modern slavery risk management approach, your Modern Slavery Statement or other reporting requirements.
